Simon Tedeschi is one of Australia’s most renowned and sought-after classical pianists, awarded several prestigious prizes including first prize in the Keyboard division of the Royal Overseas League Competition (UK), Symphony Australia’s Young Performer of the Year Award, and the Legacy Award from the Creativity Foundation (USA). Also recipient of a Centenary of Federation Medal, Tedeschi has performed in major concert halls throughout Europe, North America and Asia, and for world leaders such as George W. Bush, Vladimir Putin, Nelson Mandela, and the Dalai Lama.

Acclaimed by respected critics and peers as “True greatness” (Sydney Morning Herald), Simon Tedeschi performed his first Mozart piano concerto in the Sydney Opera House at age nine. Based in the USA for several years courtesy of the American Australian Association and the Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trust, in 2009 Tedeschi performed in Carnegie Hall, won the ‘New York Young Jewish Pianist Award’ and was featured in the Emerging Artist series held in the Museum of Jewish Heritage.

Tedeschi has performed solo recitals throughout Europe, the USA and Asia, and as soloist with the Colorado, Fort Worth and Illinois Symphony Orchestras (USA), the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra (NZ) and the Sydney, Melbourne, Queensland, Adelaide and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras, under the baton of conductors such as Richard Bonynge, Alan Gilbert, Michael Halász, Jun Märkl, Sir William Southgate, and Patrick Thomas.

Based in Boston, USA for several years, Tedeschi regularly performs with orchestras around Australia and worldwide, in the 2017 season as soloist with Adelaide, Sydney and Christchurch Symphony Orchestras. Other recent highlights include tours to China and the UAE with ‘Meeting Mozart’, and this year, a new recording and national tour of Richard Strauss’ Enoch Arden with esteemed theatre icon and founder of Bell Shakespeare, John Bell AO OBE, encompassing Sydney Opera House’ Utzon Music Series, His Majesty’s Theatre in Perth, Adelaide Festival Centre, and Queensland Performing Arts Centre. He also performs at South Australia’s SALT festival, and several concerts and another recording for ABC Classics with SSO Principal violist Roger Benedict.

Tedeschi’s wide-ranging discography also includes Gershwin and Me , Gershwin: Take Two, and Tender Earth (ABC Classics), alongside his critically acclaimed recording for ABC Classics of Pictures at an Exhibition, and concerti by Grieg, Tchaikovsky and Mozart.

Simon is Artistic Patron of Fine Music 102.5FM, and Ambassador for the Australian Children's Music Foundation, Blue Mountains Concert Society, Sydney Eisteddfod and Ryde Eisteddfod. He is also proudly the inaugural SSO Piano Club Ambassador, and Australian Ambassador for the Casio Celviano Grand Hybrid piano.
