… designed to make a lasting contribution to Australian Music.
The Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trust has funds available through its Overseas Music Scholarship Program for Australians wishing to further their studies and career development abroad. The program is intended to assist singers, instrumentalists and conductors in making an original and valuable contribution to Australian culture.
Since its launch in 1999, The Trust's Overseas Music Scholarship Program has awarded over $1,500,000 in scholarships to talented musicians, singers and conductors to further their development abroad. The initiative is unique in that there are no restrictions on the applicant's age, gender, ethnicity, or musical genre. Previous scholars have been awarded grants to study in more that 20 countries to further their careers as soloists, orchestral and chamber musicians, conductors, and singers.
Individual grants may be awarded annually to suitable applicants who are able to demonstrate excellence or exceptional potential. They will also, upon completion of their study program, show that they will make a major contribution to Australian music and the wider Australian community.
It is the view of The Trust that it should stand by and support, when practical, a scholar's musical development for life.
