Anna Da Silva Chen

Anna Da Silva Chen is recognised as one of Australia's leading young violinists, appearing as soloist with the symphony orchestras of Sydney, Tasmanian, Adelaide, Canberra, Willoughby, ACO Academy, The Metropolitan, Hopkins Sinfonia, North Sydney, Ku-ring-gai, New South Wales Youth, Queensland Youth and Steel City Strings among others, and has performed as guest violinist of the Australia Piano Quartet and toured Australia with renowned chamber ensemble Selby & Friends.

Anna was winner of the Kendall National Violin Competition, National Fine Music 102.5 Young Virtuoso Award, Australian National Youth Concerto Competition and overall prize at the NSW Secondary Schools Concerto Competition among many other competitions across Australia. She was a grand finalist at the ABC Young Performers Awards and string finalist for the three preceding years, prize-winner at the Gisborne International Music Competition, and was selected as a junior semi-finalist at the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition at the age of fifteen.

Anna is currently studying a Bachelor of Music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with Associate Professor Alice Waten. She has played in masterclasses with Maxim Vengerov, Pinchas Zukerman, Ana Chumachenco, Tasmin Little, Ulf Hoelscher and Berent Korfker, and was one of ten active participants selected to study with Boris Kuschnir at the Kronberg Academy Violin Masterclasses in Germany.
